Serrated flange nut also known as serrated nuts,din6923,which has a wide, circular flange at one end that serves as a washer.

The flange helps distribute the load of the nut over a larger surface area, which makes it capable of handling more pressure than a regular nut.

They are often used to secure bolts in place and provide extra stability to the joint. Overall, flange nuts offer a stronger and more secure fastening solution than regular nuts.

What are they used for

Flange nuts are commonly used in automotive, manufacturing, and construction industries, where they are used to join two or more components together securely. They are often used in conjunction with bolts or screws to create a strong, reliable connection. Flange nuts are also commonly used in applications where vibration is present, as the flange helps to keep the nut in place and prevent it from loosening due to vibration.

Manufacturing Process

The production process of flange nuts using a cold heading machine begins with the feeding of raw material in the form of metal wire. The wire is then straightened and cut into specific lengths by the machine.

Next, the cold heading process is performed, in which the end of the wire is compressed between two dies to form the head of the nut. The dies are shaped to create the necessary features such as the flange and the threads of the nut.

After the heading process, the nut is transferred to a thread rolling machine, where the threads are formed by pressing the nut against a rotating die. This creates the grooves and ridges that allow the nut to be screwed onto a bolt or other object.

Finally, the finished nuts are inspected for quality and packaged for shipment. The cold heading process provides a cost-effective and efficient method for producing large quantities of high-quality nuts with consistent dimensions and performance.
